ASN has partnered with SocialOffset to offer NUTRITION attendees and the larger nutrition community an opportunity to support local organizations in Orlando that make a positive difference in people’s lives and the local community.
We worked with SocialOffset to select vetted charities that support LGBTQIA+ rights, reproductive freedom, racial justice, hunger relief, and environmental sustainability.
LGBTQ+ Equality – Equality Florida and Zebra Youth
Reproductive Freedom – Equality Florida
Racial Justice – Elevate Orlando
Hunger Relief – Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
If you’re attending
NUTRITION 2025 we invite you to use this
campaign to offset any spending in
NUTRITION 2025,
Florida that doesn’t
align with your values by supporting local charities that do.
The American Society for Nutrition worked with SocialOffset to select vetted local charities. SocialOffset will send 100% of your tax-deductible donation to your designated organization.
100% of all donations go to your cause.
Select a local charity that is aligned with your values:
Please consider giving an amount that feels meaningful to you. Supporting a local Orlando organization dedicated to goals you care about helps drive meaningful progress in the community. Every donation, no matter the size, creates positive change.
How much should you give ?
When you travel, every purchase you make generates tax revenue for a government that may make (or fail to make) policies that don’t align with your values. Giving to a local charity working towards the equity goals you care about can help balance the scale. What should you give? Based on ISHLT’s estimated spend per Leadership Meeting attendee and Florida’s state tax rate, SocialOffset suggested an offset contribution of $35 or more.
This is based on the following information:
11% per hotel room night (Florida’s state tax rate of 6%, and 1% tax for Pinellas County, and 5% tourist development tax)
7% sales tax per meal or beverage (Florida’s state tax rate of 6%, and 1% tax for Pinellas County)
7% sales tax per taxi (Florida’s state tax rate of 6%, and 1% tax for Pinellas County)
