When it comes to causes that ensure everyone thrives, the possibilities for how to be a good steward in our communities are endless. Each year, SocialOffset selects a small slate of causes aimed at addressing pressing social issues, helping people in need, providing resources to advance equity, and lessening the negative effects of doing business in places with laws that conflict with our values. The six causes we’ve prioritized for 2024 are below. Check them out to learn more and see some of the local charities we have selected.
SocialOffset is committed to defending racial justice and confronting the many barriers that disproportionately negatively impact people of color. In support of this, we partner with local organizations working to drive positive change and equity in workplaces and communities.
SocialOffset believes that every person should have the right to make the best reproductive planning decisions for themselves, their health, and their family. That is why we work with organizations to help people get the care and support that they need.
SocialOffset was founded on the core value of equality for the LGBTQ+ community and partners with local organizations to counter harmful politicized spending, policy, and rhetoric. We partner with those working to ensure the physical and mental safety, and wellbeing of all who identify as LGBTQ+.
SocialOffset knows that the reality of travel is that it is harmful to our climate, and events – no matter their size – have an impact on the local environment. That is why we focus on local groups working to offset damage.
SocialOffset works to ensure the most vulnerable and hardest to house residents have access to safe and affordable housing. In the pursuit of this goal we partner with local nonprofits focused on both homelessness prevention and supportive housing.
SocialOffset believes that no one should go to bed hungry. We work with on-the-ground organizations to help feed the more than 34 million people in the United States who are food insecure.
When you travel, every purchase you make generates tax revenue for a government that may make (or fail to make) policies that don’t align with your values. Giving to a local charity working towards the equity goals you care about can help balance the scale. What should you give? Based on ISHLT’s estimated spend per Leadership Meeting attendee and Florida’s state tax rate, SocialOffset suggested an offset contribution of $35 or more.
